“Be Patient for One More Year… KCR Will Return”: KTR Targets Telangana Congress Government Over Farmers' Issues

Speaking at the Rythu Garjana public meeting in Adilabad on November 1, 2026, KTR launched a sharp attack on the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He alleged that farmers across Telangana were facing serious difficulties because of the government's failure to properly implement agricultural welfare schemes.
His statement, “Maro okka samvatsaram opika pattandi… malli KCR vastaru” (Be patient for one more year… KCR will return), has become a major talking point in Telangana politics.
KTR Questions Congress Government Over Farmers' Problems
During his speech, KTR accused the Congress government of creating difficulties for farmers across the state.
He questioned why farmers were being asked to submit self-declarations and other details to receive agricultural assistance.
He also criticised delays in the implementation of Rythu Bharosa, alleging that farmers were waiting for financial assistance promised by the government.
According to KTR, agricultural families are struggling with increasing cultivation expenses, uncertainty over financial support and difficulties in managing their farming activities.
He demanded that the government immediately address the concerns of farmers.
KTR Demands ₹60,000 Per Acre for Farmers
One of the major demands raised by KTR during the meeting was financial assistance of ₹60,000 per acre.
He argued that farmers should receive the pending three instalments of Rythu Bharosa, amounting to ₹45,000 per acre, along with another ₹15,000 for investment assistance for the current Yasangi season.
The total demand would therefore amount to ₹60,000 per acre.
KTR questioned the Congress government's earlier promises regarding farmer welfare and demanded that the pending assistance be released without further delay.
Kaleshwaram Project and Irrigation Management Also Targeted
KTR also criticised the government's handling of irrigation resources.
He alleged that Telangana was experiencing drought-like conditions despite having major irrigation infrastructure and available water resources.
He referred to the Kaleshwaram and Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation projects, arguing that better utilisation of irrigation facilities could help protect agricultural lands.
He also questioned the government's management of Godavari water and criticised delays in several irrigation-related works.
These remarks are part of the BRS leadership's broader criticism of the Congress government's agricultural and irrigation policies.
KTR Targets Industries and the BJP Government
Apart from farmers' issues, KTR raised concerns about the industrial development of Telangana.
He criticised the Congress government over the condition of the Singareni coal sector and the closure and dismantling of the Cement Corporation of India factory in Adilabad.
He also questioned the alleged movement of industries from Telangana to Gujarat.
KTR further criticised the BJP-led Central Government, alleging that Telangana had not received adequate support for major irrigation projects, educational institutions, medical colleges and other development requirements.
He described Congress and BJP as partners in neglecting Telangana's interests.
KCR's Return Becomes BRS's Political Message
KTR's statement about KCR returning as Chief Minister is significant for the BRS's political messaging.
The party lost power in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, after which Congress formed the government under Revanth Reddy.
Since then, BRS leaders have repeatedly criticised the ruling government over its implementation of election promises, farmer welfare and development policies.
By asking people to wait another year, KTR has attempted to connect public dissatisfaction over agricultural issues with the BRS's political comeback narrative.
What Does This Mean for Telangana Politics?
The latest remarks indicate that BRS is continuing to focus on farmers' issues as a central part of its political campaign against Congress.
Rythu Bharosa, irrigation projects, crop investment assistance and agricultural challenges are likely to remain important subjects in the political debate.
For the Congress government, the implementation of its agricultural promises and response to farmers' demands will remain important issues of public discussion.
The BJP is also facing criticism from BRS over its role in securing development projects and central assistance for Telangana.
Conclusion
KTR's “One More Year… KCR Will Return” statement has added another chapter to the political confrontation between BRS and the Congress government in Telangana.
While KTR has demanded ₹60,000 per acre for farmers and questioned the government's irrigation and welfare policies, the Congress government's response and implementation of its promises will remain important.
The coming months will show how BRS develops its political campaign around farmers' issues and KCR's possible return to active political leadership.
