KCR Set for National Comeback? KTR Says His Father Will Play Major Role Again

The political heat in Telangana has intensified once again. BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has made a strong statement about the political comeback of his father and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
Speaking at a public meeting in Amberpet, Hyderabad on October 23, KTR said KCR will soon return as the Chief Minister of Telangana and will also play a major role in national politics.
*What KTR Said*
KTR said both the BJP and Congress have failed to offer a real alternative to the country. According to him, Congress has no clear plan to challenge the BJP.
He added that this failure has revived KCR's old idea of a non-Congress, non-BJP front. He claimed that people in Telangana are unhappy with the current Congress government and are now looking back at BRS.
KCR and KTR: A Quick Background
KCR is the founder of the Telangana movement. The state was formed under his leadership in 2014. He served as Chief Minister from 2014 to 2023. His farmer scheme Rythu Bandhu was widely popular.
KTR is his son and the current Working President of BRS. During his time as IT Minister, he helped transform Hyderabad into a global IT hub.
The Third Front Plan
In 2022, KCR proposed a Third Front, bringing together regional parties away from both BJP and Congress. He met leaders like Nitish Kumar and Arvind Kejriwal at that time. The idea lost momentum after BRS lost the 2023 Assembly polls and drew a blank in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Why Is It Back in Discussion?
KTR believes the national situation is changing. With the BJP's hold looking weaker after 10 years and Congress unable to capitalize, regional parties will become more important. BRS believes KCR can shape a national alternative before the 2029 general elections.
For now, the immediate challenge for BRS is to rebuild its base in Telangana. If it succeeds, KCR's road to Delhi could reopen.
