Uttar Pradesh Election 2027: Yogi Adityanath Puts Government Jobs at Centre of Pre-Poll Outreach

Lucknow, September 21, 2026: Government recruitment has emerged as an important theme in Uttar Pradesh's political activity ahead of the 2027 Assembly election. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a target of providing more than one lakh government jobs within six months, while recent appointment-letter programmes have highlighted the government's recruitment efforts.
In two consecutive programmes, appointment letters were distributed to 1,730 selected candidates. According to Hindustan Times, 818 candidates selected through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission received appointment letters, followed by another 912 newly selected police personnel receiving certificates at Lok Bhavan.
Jobs Become a Major Election Issue
Employment is expected to remain an important issue in the run-up to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election (opens in a new tab) 2027. The government's recruitment announcements come as political parties increase their outreach and begin presenting their priorities for the next Assembly term.
